Time is ticking

I can't believe I only have about two more weeks until baby Owen arrives. Where has the time gone?!? It seems like just yesterday it was July 7th, and I was sharing the amazing news that we would be parents with my husband. I have had a pretty good pregnancy, and I will definitely miss feeling Owen inside me. However, I am so anxious to meet the little guy! And I must say, it is such a great feeling to see my husband just as excited to meet his son too. Chuck has been so involved in prepping for the baby's arrival that sometimes I just sit here and think to myself "How did I get so lucky?" The best days of my life have all involved Chuck - the day I got engaged (which on Valentine's Day Chuck and I went back to the Sundy House where we got engaged four years ago for one last romantic meal before Owen gets here... I'll post some pictures from Valentine's Day at the bottom of this update), the day we were married and now the day we'll be welcoming our first baby. I am so truly blessed.

Now, I'm not going to lie. Though I'm extremely excited, I'm also quite nervous about the whole birthing experience. I watched an actual birth online and literally cringed. I immediately said to myself, "OK, I'll just have a C-Section." So, I then watched a C-Section online thinking it would look like a piece of cake compared to the natural delivery I just watched, and boy was I wrong! Oh man, I am so nervous about everything. I actually asked my doctor (jokingly... kind of, lol) if he would put me to sleep and wake me up when my son was here. :) OK, I wouldn't seriously want that, but... still. Actually, just yesterday I watched Keeping Up With the Kardashians and Kourtney's birth. Wow, what an amazing experience. She actually helped pull the baby out of her. I couldn't believe how calm she was about everything. Strangely enough, it put me at ease some.

Well, my bags are packed for the hospital, the carseat is in the car and I'm walking the tredmill again hoping to help the process along. I'm planning on working the next two weeks still, and I'm praying my water doesn't break at school! Speaking of work, my awesome kindergarten team threw me a wonderful baby shower this past Wednesday. It was perfect! I'm definitely going to miss seeing them every day, but then again, sorry girls, I'll most definitely be enjoying my time with my little man and not having to worry about work for a while! :)

Anyways, here are the pictures from Valentine's Day. We sat at the same table. It's actually called the "Engagement Table." Can't believe it has been more than four years already since he put a ring on my finger in that gazebo. :)

Baby Shower Time!

On January 30th, my cousin Mallory threw me a baby shower here in West Palm Beach. It was absolutely perfect. She worked so hard to make my day special, and I can't thank her enough. Not only is she my cousin, but she has always been one of my closest and dearest friends. I had so many wonderful people come celebrate with me the upcoming arrival of my little miracle. Here are some pictures from the day.

Then on February 6th, Dee Ann threw me a shower in St. Petersburg. It was awesome, and I am so blessed to have Dee Ann and her family in my life. She was actually my brother's first grade teacher and my first grade teacher! We have known the Larson family for years, and they will always be some of my family's dearest friends. If you know Dee Ann, she is a perfectionist. I was amazed at some of her ideas for the shower. Here are some pictures from this memorable day.

I can't believe how much Owen is already loved by so many wonderful people. He is so lucky, and we are so appreciative of everyone who came to the showers and to those who couldn't make it, but still showed such thoughtfulness in getting Owen something special. Chuck and I are blown away by all the love and kindness!

Well, I have about five more weeks to go. A little all-star is on the way, and we can't wait!! :)

Operation Nursery: Complete!

Chuck and I finally finished the nursery. I'm so excited to show you all pictures of it. Since this room is also still our guestroom/memorabilia room with Chuck's Auburn baseball stuff, we decided to make Owen's nursery have an "Auburn-ish" feel to it. Hope you all like it! ... Oh, and yes, there are a couple Gator things (at least it is all orange and blue)!

The picture of the little Auburn baseball jersey is what Owen will be wearing when we take him home from the hospital. We are going to frame it along with some pictures and put it in between Chuck's framed jerseys.

Here's a picture of me when I was 32 weeks.

Getting things ready for baby Owen

Last Monday our stroller, the Quinny Buzz 4, came in. It was a nice way to start the week. I have been anticipating the arrival of it for a while now. :) I keep telling Chuck I might practice using it by taking Tyson for a stroll around the neighborhood. He isn't liking the idea too much. :)

Our baby bedding also came in the first of the week. We LOVE it! Our good friend, Beth, suggested the company we ordered from to us, and we couldn't be happier. We got to custom design it and everything.

This weekend we also started working on some nursery decor. We spent a good hour in Michaels picking out wood letters and other wood pieces to make into footballs, baseballs and basketballs. We got all the wood painted and now we just have to add some ribbon to all the pieces. I'm excited to post some pictures because Chuck and I both were impressed with our creativity because we honestly aren't the best when it comes to crafts, but I think we did pretty well. We are proud of our work! :)

Here is a picture of me at 30 weeks... I just keep on growing!

Lots to Update!

Well, winter break is coming to an end. I go back to teaching tomorrow. I definitely enjoyed two weeks off! Chuck and I were hardly home. First, we went to the Riviera Maya. We stayed for five days, and it was wonderful! I have to say it was a little different going to an all-inclusive resort being preggers! Laying out by the pool and beach weren't quite the same(nor as comfortable), but we still had a blast and baby Owen got a great tan! Below are some pictures from our Babymoon trip to Mexico! :)

We got home December 23rd and stayed at our place for a brief two days. We went to Chuck's grandma's Christmas party on the 23rd. Christmas Eve was spent with Chuck's family. We attended church, had a nice dinner at Outback and visited with his other grandmother. That night Chuck and I also had our little Christmas at our house. We opened each other's gifts and gave Tyson lots of goodies. Chuck got me a frame from Things Remembered, and it was engraved with Owen Charles Jeroloman. It has 12 places to put pictures from Owen's first 12 months. It was the sweetest gift. I was so surprised!

We spent Christmas morning with Chuck's parents and then made the drive to St.Pete to be with my family for the rest of Christmas day. We got to stay with my family for an entire week, which we haven't been able to do together since we started dating seven years ago! It was so good to be home. I got to catch up with friends who I don't get to see often and of course was able to spend quality time with my parents, sister and brother. Here are some pictures from Christmas with Chuck's family and mine, as well as some pictures from my week-long stay in St.Pete.

Well, the best part of winter break came on the day we got to see our little boy Owen! We had a 3/4 D ultrasound, and it was amazing. He actually smiled at us! I am so excited for his arrival. 10 more weeks and counting. :)

See you next week... thanks for reading our blog! HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL! :)
